Make a difference by giving back
Helping to make a difference in people’s lives, no matter how small, can be incredibly rewarding, and a valuable contribution to our community and our whole society. Whether for an hour or helping out on a daily basis, many aged care volunteers have gained a sense of achievement, and a deeper respect for our community elders.
There are many ways you can volunteer with Palm Lake, regardless of your education, background or skills.
- Social interaction with our residents – most are always up for a chat, and it’s amazing what we learn if we really listen. Many have had incredible life stories and achievements, and look forward to any opportunity to pass on their knowledge.
- Support in daily activities – from meals to companionship and recreational activities
- Share your own skills – every team member at Palm Lake care brings a unique set of skills, talents and life experiences that is shared with residents and our team. You might be an enthusiastic gardener, a whizz at cards, an artist or musician, a poet, or just a great listener. Everyone has something special. By sharing it you will enrich the lives of our resident and bring a new joy to our community.
- Learn new skills – our team will induct you into our philosophies and responsibilities, training you in the tasks involved and giving you new skills. Palm Lake Care is made up of people just like you, who will support and encourage you every step of the way.
