You will understand every resident is someone’s mother, father, sibling or spouse and your responsibility as Clinical Care Funding Officer puts you in the front line of creating a better future for them by ensuring we are appropriately financially resourced.

    Reporting to the Clinical Governance Manager, you will deliver a disciplined approach to the implementation of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) to achieve Palm Lake Care financial KPIs by appropriately balancing care needs and resident choice. To be successful requires active listening and true leadership that others want to follow, you must be willing to travel to other communities and work within a broader team.  You must be a passionate and effective educator able to motivate and guide the behavior of busy colleagues. You will do this with understanding underpinned by an unwavering commitment to drive documentation outcomes.

    Your role

    As the Clinical Care Funding Officer, you will be primarily responsible for the preparation, coordination, and submission of all site ACFI documentation. You will communicate with clinical and care colleagues, management, and residents displaying a thorough understanding of individual care plans.

    The dignity and integrity of each resident’s independence will be based on your comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments, and your engagement in nursing practices, allowing you to understand and see the positive changes firsthand.

    A few obvious things

    • Bachelor of Nursing qualification with current AHPRA registration
    • Demonstrated knowledge of ACFI, including assessments, claims submissions and working within policies and guidelines
    • Proven knowledge of current trends in nursing and current clinical expertise in health and aged care
    • Understanding of new Aged Care Quality Standards and the relationship with ACFI.
    • Demonstrated previous experience with funding business rules and assessment procedures, including ACFI validations.
    • Highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, particularly in the development and maintenance of relationships with older people, general practitioners, and other healthcare providers
    • Ability to co-ordinate work, including the ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines and commitments
    • Knowledge of Autumn Care would be highly regarded
    • Experience in commissioning an aged care facility would be advantageous
