Nestled against a large peaceful lake, Palm Lake Care Bethania is one of our most popular communities. Most days you’ll find our residents watching the cormorants, turtles and egrets gracing the reedy shorelines from the large lounge or lakeside verandah.
Bethania features several lounge and dining areas, a grand lounge with expansive views across the lake and a family friendly café for get-togethers.
Palm Lake Care Bethania is also situated right next door to our sister property, Palm Lake Resort, allowing an easy transition from resort living to care without stress if the need arises. There is always plenty of movement between these two vibrant communities.
Caring for our residents is and should be our first priority, but we believe care needs to do more than just provide. All our team have undergone considerable empathy training to help connect emotionally with the residents in our community. We are humbled by the trust and faith families have put in us, and this underpins everything we do. Aged care is not a job, it is a passion, and every team member contributes to our larger community family.
Types of care available
Residential aged care
Family values are the basis of our 24 hour residential care, supported by a full range of services, and a dedicated team of chefs, therapists and activities co-ordinators.
Palliative Care requires deep and personal understanding, sensitivity and experience. At Palm Lake Care we consider it a privilege to support our residents and their family and friends in this emotionally challenging stage of their care.
Specialist care for memory support is available at several Palm Lake Care communities, including our purpose-designed community called Memory Lanes.
Independent living on site
All Palm Lake Aged caring Communities sit adjacent to their sister independent living resorts, Palm Lake Resorts. This means couples can stay near each other, when only one partner requires care.
Palm Lake Care provides the highest level of residential aged care in brand new luxury suites with the very best community facilities.
Palm Lake Care Bethania offers private and spacious suites with leafy views, surround by luxury modern facilities.
Each suite is fully air-conditioned and comes complete with TV, direct dial phones, ensuite and patio access to outdoor garden areas for fresh air and cooling summer breezes. The latest electric beds are standard across all suites, allowing carers to move residents without disruption and alleviating pressure areas at the touch of a button.
Palm Lake Care is home to Memory Lanes – our specialist micro village for residents with dementia to move freely through 1.5 acres of gardens and communal areas. Find out more.

Maximum prices shown may not apply to you
Some people may only be required to pay the basic daily fee if their assessable assets are below the threshold and their only income is the standard aged pension.
You have 28 days to decide on how to pay:
1. A lump sum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) or Contribution (RAC)
2. Rental style Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) or Contribution (DAC)
3. Combination part lump sum and part ongoing payments with a drawdown option
- Government mandated fixed interest applies if accommodation is not paid in full
- Full daily accommodation charges apply until a lump sum is paid or Department of Human Services advice dictating a lesser amount is received
- Lump sums are refunded in full, less any deductions you choose, within 14 days of discharge or receipt of deed of probate.
Food & Nutrition
Fresh seasonal menus are a must for any aged care menu, but why stop there? At Palm Lake Care our residents are involved with input into the changing menu prepared by our Executive Chef and cooked fresh on site. Whilst ensuring nutrition and dietary requirements are always a priority, our food smells, looks and tastes good enticing even the most fussy eater. We take pride in our results that reduce the need for dietary supplements, proof our menu tantalises tastebuds with extensive choices daily. We have a concierge to ensure the dining experience is enjoyable and relaxed, with everyone’s needs catered to confidently.

Our lakeside wetlands provide an ever-changing panorama of nature’s majesty but we understand even the best location needs a little more. With our dedicated Lifestyle Team constantly thinking up new things to do, life at Palm Lake Care Bethania is varied as the wetland eco system. Specially designed programs of activities based on resident input help stimulate the mind and body. From our giant chess set, to our movie theatre, trivia events and intellectual games, there’s something for everyone. Play the piano, get your hair and nails done, choose a book from our extensive library, get involved in our Artists in Residents program or try to beat your best friend at cards or pool.

Bethania Concierge... at your service
Our grand dining room at Bethania now offers a concierge service to ensure the dining experience is the best it can be for every resident, at every meal. We understand the concerns about stimulating an appropriate appetite to ensure proper nutrition and hydration, and that eating can be stressful time for many of our residents, so it is our promise to make this experience as happy as it can be.
Our concierge service will help residents choose which meal they want, allowing them to discuss food and drink choices. Our concierge will look after everything, from the menu to the table settings. By tantalizing our residents senses with constantly changing menu options, we encourage them to eat more, enjoy their meals, and gain as much nutrition and hydration as possible through eating and drinking.
This is our residents’ home, so we want everything to be as perfect. By improving the dining experience, we hope to add just that little bit extra joy. If you feel like dining in the comfort of your private suite – no problem at all.
Artists in residence
One of our most popular initiatives has been the Bethania Art Gallery, a permanent collection of our residents’ art works, on display for families and residents alike to ooh and ahh over. We also host regular art shows, complete with invitations, speeches and a chance to purchase an original masterpiece. Don’t worry, we regularly hear residents tell us they have never done anything like this before, but before long, become immersed in our free classes.
Sunny nooks and shady corners
Our Bethania community is built around a series of sun-speckled courtyards, allowing each resident to access outside and let fresh breezes into their suite. With arbours and lush gardens dotted with benches and outdoor chairs, these courtyards are a favourite spot for residents and their visitors.

During my latter times at her bedside I witnessed cleaners, food handlers, nurses and event organisers all approach and encourage mum in a manner consistent with a closely knit family.
I have spoken to Mrs. Dillon’s niece (Kim Guymer) to check how today’s respite admission went and Kim could not be happier. Said every staff member, reception and clinical staff were so friendly, helpful and polite. Kim contacted My Aged Care to arrange for ACAT assessment for permanent care to be done and told them it was extremely urgent as she only has respite approval.
I just wanted to let you know Karen is all settled into Bethania for her respite, and thank you again for all your help. You were really the only one that knew what had to be done and were more than happy and very efficient and affective in helping me. Without caring people out there like yourself I would probably still be ringing and getting the run around.

I am the son of Betty Thompson who up to recently was a palliative care resident of your establishment. Betty died on the 30th June aged 93.
Without any prompting, reservations or 3rd party request I seek to congratulate you and your staff on the level of care and nurturing mum received during her 3 years in residence. During my latter times at her bedside I witnessed cleaners, food handlers, nurses and event organisers all approach and encourage mum in a manner consistent with a closely knit family. She mentioned often the likes of Donna, Suli, Amber, Sam (Samantha) and Scot (2) who helped mum through her deafness, encroaching blindness and infirmity. I may have missed others but I never heard any negatives against anyone during my visits.
I would like if possible my gratitude to be conveyed to all the staff and if ever needed this correspondence and my contact details can be used for any referral / audit function.
